Bank Holiday Rally

A fabulous weekend of cruising was enjoyed over the early May Bank holiday.
Saturday was dinner at Gins Farm, Beaulieu with 10 CO32s making it to the party in light winds and fabulous sunshine. Guy & Zoe organised a fabulous dinner at the club, garden games were arranged on the lawn, plenty of beer was drunk and much merriment was had.
Sunday was a bit breezier than expected and the fleet made their way to Portsmouth completing en route the many challenges of the 2025 Challenge cup set by last year's winners Muscadet. A number of boats not taking part in the rally joined in the Challenges via WhatsApp. Highlights included some fantastic songs about these wonderful boats, some sketchy drawings completed by foot and some tasty dinners for the skipper served up by the crew. The more serious sailing challenges proved devious - especially lining up a two marks with a shroud in 20kts of breeze!
Boats made their way to the marina in Gosport for a pontoon party and the announcements of the prizes. The judges adjudicated Carinosa and Finnock were tied so a tie-breaker challenge of getting marshmallows into a cup whilst blindfolded was set (thankfully no-one fell in). Finnock was the worthy winner and we look forward to their challenges next year.
The breeze continued on Monday which made for an exciting sail home blowing away the cobwebs of the beer and Chinese from the night before.
Thanks go to Gina and Ben for their superb organisation
