2026 Contessa Regatta Inshore Series 4 and Solent Quest

The final weekend of June marked the fourth instalment of the inshore Series for the Contessa 32s, hosted in style by the Royal Solent Yacht Club as part of the increasingly vibrant Contessa Regatta. The event brought together a wide spread of boats from across the Contessa family, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere both on and off the water.

Competitors faced a full spectrum of weather. Saturday delivered light and fickle airs, with several boats struggling to complete the course within the time limit. In contrast, Sunday arrived with a punchy 20knot southwesterly, transforming the racing into a far more energetic and tactical affair. Congratulations to the podium finishers:

A wellearned set of results across a challenging and varied weekend.

As ever, the social side of the regatta proved just as memorable. A relaxed gathering on the Royal Solent lawn, accompanied by excellent wine, set the tone beautifully. The club dinner and dancing carried on late into the night, with a few determined souls staying up to watch England beat Panama before heading back onto the racecourse the following morning.

It was also a pleasure to welcome several international visitors, adding to the sense of occasion and community that defines the Contessa 32 fleet.

Alongside the racing, the regatta continues to celebrate the cruising heritage of the class. This year the Contessa Solent Quest was won by Saveedra, reminding everyone that the event is as much about fun and camaraderie as it is about competition.
