Just purchased a CO32 last month. The mast was stepped using chocks in the coach roof for what I assumed was centering the mast. Are the chocks necessary?

Yes, it’s to stop this section of the mast moving around at deck level.
Normally chocked firmly once the heel is in the right position & mast is positioned vertically. but prior to rig tensioning.
