Just purchased a CO32 last month. The mast was stepped using chocks in the coach roof for what I assumed was centering the mast. Are the chocks necessary?

Just wondering about storage ashore and whether to use a dehumidifier…most seem to have the facility to drain to a sink, however with my contessa having a pumped waste on the galley sink, this would likely not be doable. What have others done over winter?
