Vulcan Anchor, would a 9kg be sufficient ?

I currently have a plough anchor however this could create problems with my new windlass. The shank would damage my furling gear. As a result I have been looking to buy a Vulcan as the shank is curved. I am thinking about a 9kg but unsure if this will suffice ? I would value any ideas on this, many thanks.

I have the 12 kg Vulcan which is the recommended size for the boat, and it fits into the anchor locker with 25m chain and 30m rope without a problem.

It has been a good replacement for the CQR

Thank you for your response Simon, that’s good to know. I actually contacted Kit at Jeremy Rogers who was also suggesting the Manson but it wouldn’t fit well under my low furling gear. I think the 12 KG is a good idea. Thank you and happy sailing !
