Where/how do owners tend to store petrol for the outboard ?

I have a 5 litre plastic container. I’m not sure if it will fit in the gas locker ? I read on another forum that storage in the other cockpit lockers and anchor lockers could lead to fumes going into the bilge. Am I being paranoid ?! paul

I leave mine on deck by the backstay. Any leakage of fumes goes straight overboard on the wind or drains overboard via the scuppers.

Try the bow – it’s quite roomy.
ours lives in the anchor well whilst it’s aboard, alongside a 15kg spade, 60m chain, 30m warp, the anchor buoy & bow fender (the latter has to be bent in while the petrol can is aboard but it’s easy enough).
