Did anyone ever install a holding tank in their Co32?
Perhaps that is not an issue in GB but it is very practical to have here in Norway, as I usually anchor in natural harbours without toilets.

It shouldn’t be to difficult to fit one, but if anyone already has some advice from hard earned lessons I’d be very happy to hear about it.

Hello Jojo,

I have never done it but I did think that something might be worked out with this idea:

Obviously only useful for short periods on a lightly crewed boat.

One member fitted a simple, small, nifty tank at the back of the storage unit in the heads but I can’t for the life of me remember where I saw the details…..

Thanks Doug,

I think I need a bigger tank than that, or my crew might go elsewhere..
Both tank + pump and necessary gear are common things in boat equipment stores here, but when it comes to installing these things there’s always unexpected trouble waiting.

Hi,

I installed a holding tank on Explorer recently. She is a 1977 boat with a moulded heads unit. Bought a standard 18L rectangular tank front Tectanks which is installed in the area which used to have the shelving unit behind the heads. In the same area is a Trudesign diverter valve and a Whale Mk5 pump to pump the tank out as gravity dump is unlikely to work with the standard sea cock.

If you are interested I can take some pictures.

Don’t underestimate the difficulty of getting the plumbing in. The hose bend radius is large!
