Mine need a spruce up. Can’t see how they are fixed, has anyone removed them without damage?

The ’ rail’ is fixed to a piece of wood which is nailed (and sort of glued) to the backside of the frontpanel in which the sliding doors slide.
I managed with a wide chisel to prise loose the top or bottom rail (I forgot which, but one will do); the glue was so hardened that is came loose without damage. The sliding doors can now be taken out (it was a bit of a puzzle how to move which door in which order to get them out).
After fixing and repainting the sliding doors I replaced the doors and reglued the rail plus wood (I removed the nails).

Patience will do most of the trick.

I hope this helps you with your job.

Thank you Winfried.

That is exactly what I did. As you suggested, the bottom rail came away with a little help from a thin chisel. Thanks.
