Depth Transducer Angle
mcollen88 at 10/07/2017 17:49:41
I am looking for things to do when the boat is next out of the water, one thing is that the depth transducer is a little bit iffy, not helpful when short tacking up the beach!
Airmar have an option of 0/12 and 20 degrees. does anyone know what the deadrise is at the bow at the heads?

I don’t know the deadrise angle by the heads, but under the starboard berth in the main cabin, where my transducer is located near the aft end of the locker, it is 25 degrees. I suspect it is greater by the heads.

I’m pretty sure it’s more at the heads. I have an in-hull transducer (Airmar P79), mounted under the forward end of the port berth. The housing is adjustable up to 22 deg deadrise, so it’s a bit short, but it seems to work fine and I don’t notice any significant error.
