U-bolts, do they have to be JR’s

Hello, I am new to this as I have just recently purchased a Co32. I want to change the u bolts as I think they are at least 15years old and I’m going to change all the standing rigging. The u bolts on the Jeremy Rogers website are really expensive and I’m wondering if anyone has bought similar marine grade u bolts for a much lower price. Surely the same strength? *I’m speaking specifically about the bolts for the lowers, I will buy JR uppers. Thanks

Hi, I don’t think there is anything special about U bolts.

Even the centre spacing from Roger’s may not be an exact match, depending on your current boat/bolt era.
As long as the cross section matches & a good quality marine S/S you shouldn’t have a problem.

iirc Rogers use Ocean Rigging in Lymington, who may be able to help too.

New cap bolts are cranked to improve the load path, but the rig was designed & specced with straight ones.
On the caps, I’m sure you’re aware to check the load bars have flats for the nuts & if not please get that sorted asap.
