Does anyone have any experience and/or recommendations with stack packs and lazy jacks?

I have 3/4 length battens. Is it possible the roll the cloth up around the batten and strap it along the boom when sailing?

I fitted a stack pack from CJ Marine about 3 years ago and find it excellent. when the main is hoisted I use two pieces of shockcord with hooks attached to the lazy jack points these loop under the boom and hold the stack pack to the boom, the lazy jacks need to be set to the right height for this. it works well

I have sailed & raced with an ARUN SAILS stackpack which has served me very well in both long cruises & RTI race etc. They know all the contessa measurement & the sail concentinas into the pack when lowering
