Hi – One of the securing bolts for the engine mount has come loose and worn away the thread holding it in place ( I noticed after a strange vibration whilst idling). I am going to try a tap and die set to re do the thread but failing that any ideas on how to secure the engine mount?

On my 1979 boat there is a broad steel plate under the engine mounts so, if yours is the same, you should have no problem.
Re-tapping the same dia may well pull out again but if you drill and tap a convenient size larger you should be ok.

FYI Doug tapped an M12 hole – seems to be working fine thanks for your advice.
