Hello,

Having just bought Jingo, we are now looking for manuals for the equipment that is aboard her, starting with an engine manual – workshop and owners – if anyone knows where I can get one or both I would be very grateful.

The petter mini twin was used on refrigeration lorries. mounted up high on the front.

I had one and used to keep the oil under it rather than in it

We once owned a UFO27 with a Petter mini 6 (the single cylinder version of the mini twin). It was marginally easier than rowing but a whole lot less reliable! The big problem seemed to be the iron block and aluminium cylinder head, which when combined with sea water cooling just wanted to corrode away. Regularly changing the anode in the head is vital but still no guarantee against terminal corrosion. Thames Vintage Boat Club list the manual on their website – www.thamesengines.co.uk, not sure if they will help non-members or not. It might be worth a ring round the Lister-Petter distributors, or keep checking ebay as old manuals often pop up there.

hi, did you manage to get a minitwin manual, I have one, plus a defunct engine (cracked block I think)
