The Class Association Committee has agreed to start a second class at our Racing Meetings for 'Cruising Boats'. These are the basic rules.
All entries must have a valid Class Certificate, but no sail certificate will be required. However, the Committee may measure any sail at any time.
Special regulations are:
Furling headsails or No. 2 Genoa are allowed. If the latter is preferred a No 3 Genoa must also be carried. All entries must carry a storm jib.
No spinnakers or No. 1 Genoas are allowed.
All category 4 requirements must be complied with.
In addition to Class flag G, Numeral Pennant 2 must be flown on the backstay.
A minimum crew of 2 must be carried throughout the race.
Yachts are free to remain in the Cruiser Racing Fleet or may move up to the Racing Fleet if at any time.
Racing and Cruising Racing Fleets will start 10 minutes apart, but where possible the Cruisers will sail a shorter course.
Points will be scored as set out in The Contessa 32 Class Handbook para. 1.6
